MOVIES: Chris paddling (140K), and Tom dropping (380K).

Earlier this year I bought a new kayak, the Wavesport Mutant. With the low water conditions throughout Colorado I was afraid the creeks wouldn't run, and I would get to use it! Last week, after paddling Pine Creek and Numbers, Chris Lau and I went to take a peek at what Clear Creek was doing. It was pretty low, but looked runnable. And so the next weekend we went for it :)

The run is about three miles long, during which the creek runs through three narrow gorges. It's fairly steep, between 150 and 200 feet/mile. The water was very low, we had to scrape and bump down the wider parts of the creek, but it was all worth it!

Tom: who needs a freakin' paddle?

The gorges were very fun, with lots of small steep drops. For such a short run, even with all the scraping on the bottom between the gorges, it was still worth it -- and a lot of fun!
